If you’re like most people, you spend a lot of your days wondering if you’re just a minor character in a major novel, a figure completely plot nonessential, who may get killed in chapter four anyway. That thought leaves you wondering why you should waste your time thinking all of it could mean something.

Perhaps you steal long glances out of windows while you wonder where your life’s going and why. Maybe you simply daydream in the midst of your busy-ness about a time when you used to ask big questions like that. Maybe it just doesn’t matter anymore, because the part of your heart that cared has been starved and wounded to the point it can no longer survive. Maybe that part of your heart no longer speaks to you...

In this condition, you find ways to get by, to distract yourself, to medicate the pain of not knowing the answers. But once in a while, in the late hours of the night, that part whispers…..beating faintly in your chest. Hope rests on you for only a second, and then the fear of disappointment quickly chokes it out. You roll over and try to sleep wishing the morning would come sooner.

My dear friend, your story should not be lost or forgotten. It is deeply valuable to this world,…yes, even the painful and ugly parts. If your story is not told…not lived, the world suffers a great loss. If you feel wounded, alone, disoriented, and disconnected, hope is not gone. It’s just hidden from view. It would be a deep honor to journey with you until you find the paths that lead you back to your truest life; a life that will pass into legend.
